１９９３年，美國超級巨星王子（Prince）與所屬唱片公司華納公開反抗．

因為他們拒絕發行其灌錄好的許多作品，限制其藝術創作自由．

他也怪罪華納對１９９２年［The Love Symbol Album］宣傳不力，導致銷售不理想．

同年王子並將名字改成一個結合男女，但無法發音的符號‘The Love Symbol’．

為了趕緊完成合約恢復自由身, 王子加緊速度創作製作許多歌曲，以便讓華納發行專輯．　

１９９３年，王子構想一‘互動音樂經驗’的音樂劇‘Glam Slam Ulysess’，９月限地演出．

裡面１３首歌曲後來陸續收在他幾張專輯．

其中六首歌收在１９９４年８推出的第１５張錄音室專輯［Come／來吧］

［Come］與［The Golden Experience］同時灌錄．

本來王子想要同時發行，前者以本名‘Prince’，後者以Love Symbol的符號

但華納拒絕，認為會影響到銷售，因此［The Golden Experience］延後一年才推出．

 

大碟［Come］由王子獨力譜寫製作（除一首歌合寫）．,

儘管王子宣稱［Come］是舊作集合，但裡面有許多新灌錄歌曲

跟以前的作品比起來，［Come］的風格較為陰暗， 也更實驗性．

樂評平凡，認為這是王子為完成合約而作，沒什麼驚奇性．

 

 

在大碟發行前，專輯標題曲先以首支宣傳主打推出．

１９９４年３月，王子後，他向華納兄弟提交了［Come］專輯的第一版。這個版本的專輯長度剛好是４５分鐘，被稱為「Come Test Pressing」。

並沒有標題曲［Come］。

華納兄弟拒絕這個版本，並要求提供標題曲以及其他一些新材料，例如最近熱門的［The Most Beautiful Girl in the World／世界上最美麗的女孩］。

王子回到錄音室，標題曲進行修改，創作一段１１分鐘的喇叭助興的性歡鬧。

王子將其製作成一首放克／R&B曲,，在中板節奏中，王子以隨興嗓音恣意表現．

 

由於是宣傳單曲，沒有MV，也未宣傳，［Come］並未打入排行榜

 

［Come］專輯幾乎沒有得到王子的支持，他嘲笑這張專輯是“舊材料”，

儘管事實上許多曲目都是在製作［The Gold Experience］ 同一時期錄製的。

大碟表現岔強人意，登上美國告示牌專輯榜＃１５

副榜──R&B榜＃２（1994年榜#97），取得金唱片（５０萬張）──以王子當時的標準並不佳

不過英國專輯榜拿到冠軍──金唱片（１０萬張）
