１９４８年５月出生於蘇塞克斯郡的李奧賽爾（Leo Sayer）是英國（２００９年增加澳大利亞國籍）著名創作歌手

１９７３年出道, 與Chrysalis唱片簽約

推出首張大碟［Silverbird］（亞軍, 銀唱片）與單曲［The Show Must Go On］（亞軍,金唱片）走紅

便以走紅　大碟也得亞軍

第二張大碟［Just a Boy］也打入美國市場

此後陸續發行數張暢銷作

 

１９８０年８月, ３２歲的李奧推出第八張大碟［Living in a Fantasy］(Chrysalis(UK)/Warner Bros.(US)出版)

由Alan Tarney製作, 評價中等

首支主打是翻唱曲［More Than I Can Say］　１０月發行

這是早逝的美國創作搖滾先峰巴迪·霍利（Buddy Holly）的樂團‘蟋蟀’（ The Crickets）團員Sonny Curtis &Jerry Allison譜寫

在１９５９年２月巴迪•霍利（22歲5月）墜機身亡後, Sonny Curtis &Jerry Allison隨即灌錄［More Than I Can Say］,

１９６０年４／５別在英／美兩地發行

登上英國單曲榜＃２６　

１９６１年, 美國偶像Bobby Vee翻唱此曲, 登上英國單曲榜＃４　美國單曲榜＃６１

 

李奧版是首軟調搖滾, 在討好旋律與輕鬆節奏間，賽爾以他抑揚頓挫的嗓音演繹

推出後大受歡迎

登上英國榜亞軍, 銷售逾２０萬, 拿到銀唱片（1980年終#49）

美國Billboard單曲榜亞軍　拿到百萬金唱片（1981年終#52）

副榜－Easy Listening榜冠軍

１９８１年, 台灣歌后鳳飛飛推出［愛在心裡口難開］專輯

同名歌曲便是將［More Than I Can Say］改編成中文版

［愛在心裡口難開］在華語世界也走紅, 成為鳳飛飛的名曲之一
