Today is the 7th day of July.  The day of eighty-five years ago, the across-the-board resistance war against Jap broke out at Lugou Bridge (Marco Polo Bridge) outside Beijing.  The Chinese army stationed there was 29th Army, a former army commanded by a patriotic warlord Gen. Feng Yuxiang.  His army was famous of Dadao, or machetes, with which every fighting soldier was equipped.  Regretfully, they were not equipped with aircraft and tanks. 

Almost at the same time of double seventh, 1937, a young composer Mai Xin(麥新), only 23 then, created this famous song!  (I also strongly suggest you search the song on YouTube!)
