Recently for the very first time that I've heard there is a facebook fan page called Citizen Tai which discusses ingrained ill habits in Taiwanses society.  (You know, I am kind of a "fossil" in clever gadget or invention, so I seldom browse facebook or use fancy applications.).  More interestingly, the page was blocked by the social networking service on July 14 after an attack on opposition leader Tsai Ing-wen over her DDP's policy regarding the island's controversial 4th nuclear power plant that prompted a wave of complaints. 

Report says that the fan page was made to imitate Lu Xun's sharp criticism on Taiwan's negative social culture, especially selfishness which was derived mostly from the morbid mindset that people "know their rights only but disregard their responsibility to society, putting forward the idea that many Taiwanese consider they are powerless and bullied by larger nations and thus develop a victim mentality that is antithetical to taking responsibility for one's actions."   The founder also argued that his page had often critized Ma Adminstration, but "nothing happened" to him.  However, when he drawed a caricature  insinuated that Tsai was enjoying air condition while objectiong to the completion of 4th nuclear power plant, the drawing might thus infuriate Tsai and her "cyber army" as to attack the page and make it totally shut down.

Well, the phenomenon is kind of another "Miracle of Taiwan" that people can impose any oppribrium on government and the ruling pary(Blue only) without any scruple, but any criticism regarding opposition camp would most likely engender strong backlash and shrill protests from "populist mainstream".  Remember the incident of Guo Guanyin?  It sucks!

P.S.  Basically I agree with the observation of the quoted bold letters except the so-called "larger nations" should not include Mainland China.  She doesn't bully Taiwan, she just tries to take him as her pampered little brother again.
