When I was in college studying History of Song, the professor mentioned 沈括 and his masterpiece "夢溪筆談" to the students.  The professor also said even 李約瑟(Please see my previous writing "三人行" at http://blog.udn.com/kkuo0810/109202516) extolled Mr. Shen as one of the greatest geniuses in Chinese history of science and technology.  The professor urged us read "筆談".  But how could we, as not being science students, to study his book most of technical stuff written in classic Chinese?
