"Put your foot down" means to use your authority to stop something from happening. When my younger brother took one of my model collections without asking me, I had to put my foot down. Because I did not want the thing to keep happening, I had to put my foot down!

"Put your foot down" 的意思是用自己的權利去停止一些自己不想看到事情發生。當我弟弟沒有經過我的允許去拿我的模型珍藏時,我必需put my foot down。因為我不想讓這件事情一再發生,所以我必需put my foot down!
