"Shoot the breeze" means to have a casual conversation or spend time on talking not important things. In the workplace, we might have shot the breeze in the water fountain area with co-workers in the break session. Another common case, we are in the coffee shop to shoot the breeze with friends in the afternoon on the weekend.
"Shoot the breeze" 的意思是悠閒的聊天或是談論一些不重要的事情。在工作場所的休息時段，我們可能曾經在茶水間和同事聊天。在周末的下午，我們和朋友們在咖啡廳聊是非。
"Breeze" means "gentle wind". Besides that, it means "easy things" as well. Therefore, on the daily basis, we use "shoot the breeze" to mean "talking about something easy, less-important things". Please check picture.1
