elect 這個字因為常見到被動用法 elected 作「當選」的意思，平常比較不知道它的原型還可以作形容詞，意思是「當選而還未就任的」。所以 president-elect 又是一個 [名詞 + 單字形容詞] 所形成的名詞片語。
