母與女

 

有一撿破爛的少女，

在拉圾堆裡，

撿到一個啼哭的女嬰，

是由另一少女所遺棄；

包裹裡並附信一封。

 

她把她抱回了家，

一間破爛的茅屋，

養育她並教育她；

愛護備至，

如同己出。

 

這女孩很聰明，

也很用功；

半工半讀，

畢業於一名校，

且名列前茅。

 

同時也得到，

一份全額獎學金；

來自一個夢想國，

另一個知名校，

準備繼續深造。

 

但是她不忍心，

離開她的母親；

仍舊住在茅屋裡，

繼續撿破爛，

孤獨的一個人。

 

因此她透過一位記者，

在報紙上徵求一位父親。

 

她是半殘半不好看。

誰願意結這個伴。

 

後來記者報導，

她準備不唸了；

放棄這個機會，

不再深造。

 

 

有一天，

一位陌生的女士，

出現在她家門前。

 

她繼續走進屋裡，

告訴這驚訝的少女：

 

她來的目的，

是要收養她的母親，

作為自己的養女。

Mother and Daughter

 

A teenager garbage collector

found a crying baby girl

dumped by another teenager

with a wrapper and letter

 

She brought her back

to her shabby shack   

fed and educated her

as her own daughter

 

The girl was rather clever

half worked and hard worked 

eventually graduated

from a first class college

with admirable academic records  

 

She also got a grant

of full scholarship

from a famous college

of a dreamy country

to study further

 

However she would not 

leave her beloved mother

living lonely and miserably

still as a garbage collector

 

So she advertised

through a reporter

on the newspaper

for a father

 

She was half invalid

also hard-featured

Who would be willing

to have such a partner

 

Later the reporter reported

she intended to abandon

her precious opportunity

to study any more

 

One day a lady stranger

unexpectedly appeared

before their shelter

and entered their door

 

She told the perplexed girl

she came with a purpose 

to adopt her mother

to be her daughter
