     百日樂

 

傷筋動骨一百天，

百日一到病霍然。

有病灌藥太可憐，

無疾斷藥賽神仙。

 

實情不能太樂觀，

體質傷情不一般。

有人或能早復原，

有人還得續復健。

 

明日如痛仍須瞞，

後日有事仍抱歉。

昨日只能走一轉，

隔日何能跑三圈？

 

病中可賴可偷懶，

可以不冩也不看。

病癒得勤得補撰，

一夕怎成詩百篇？

 

老人跌跤過難關，

肌綻骨折五內翻。

病來山倒病去慢，

那能限時一刀斷？

 

可憐老殘又腦殘，

誤把老談當仙丹。

亦信亦盼樂大痊，

可笑可歎大笨蛋！

雖然這難熬的一百天過了，

病體尚未全好。

很多老人一跤摔倒，

就爬不起來或行動不便了。

 

感謝上天、醫師、及家人

的保佑、治療、與照料，

假以時日，

老小子定會又是活龍一條。

 

哈！ 哈!

Happy Hundred Day

 

There is an old saying:

if you hurt your tendon and bone,

it needs a hundred days for recovery.

 

Therefore, I think:

once the hundredth day arrives

my injury can be cured completely.

 

Serious sickness

and multiple medicines

can make a man in deep misery.

 

Get well from them,

get rid of them altogether,

surely can make me very merry.

 

 

Actually, things cannot be

considered so optimistically.

Injuries and physical conditions

are not created all similarly.

 

Damage is light, body healthy,

maybe can be recovered early.
Some are heavy and unhealthy,

may need more recovering days.

 

 

Tomorrow if you are painful, 

you should keep it in secrecy.

Later If there is job to do,

you should still say sorry.

 

One can walk only one lap  

slowly, staggeringly, yesterday,

How can he run three laps

swiftly, smoothly, the next day?

 

 

While you are ill,

you can be very lazy:

neither write nor read,

all things can be delayed.

 

When you get well,

you should be very busy.

But how can you write

a hundred poems in a day?

  

 

Old people tumble,

it’s a barrier to climb over:
muscle hurt, bone broken,

internal organs are turned over.

 

Sickness comes like slip of snow.

It goes like the melt of snow.

It cannot be swept away 

with a whiff of blow.

 

A man is old,

may be a fool,

relies on the old saying

as a miracle healing tool.

 

Believes it and expects it

with much joy, full hope.

How ridiculous!

What a poop!

Although this tough hundred days is over,
and my body cannot completely recover.
Many old people once they fall over,
cannot get up and walk any more. 

 

Thanks God, physicians, and my family,
their blessing, treatment, and care.
In time, Old Boy will be surely

a lively dragon once more.

 

Ha! Ha!
