１９９５年，DJ Oliver Froning、製作人Jens Oettrich和Bernd Burhoff（藝名Plutone）創立電子樂團沙丘（Dune）。

樂團名稱的靈感源自科幻電影《沙丘》，該電影改編自Frank Herbert的同名小說。

１９９６年１２月，沙丘推出第三張大碟［Forever／永遠］（Orbit／Virgin唱片發行）．

這張大碟與其他發行的專輯截然不同，因為它的風格是古典的。

它收錄許多著名流行歌曲的翻唱，並與倫敦錄音室管弦樂團在倫敦著名的艾比路錄音室錄製。
