電子大廠光寶科（2301）為台股首檔上市之電子類股，創辦人宋恭源日前指出，近年台灣產業界的變化非常大，過去將近50年的時間，光寶從規模不是很大的時候一路成長，最終成長為全台上市的第一家電子股；不過一開始上市時，大家都不懂為什麼自己要做這個決定，甚至讓旁人無法接受，直到引起當時聯電董座曹興誠關注，他特地跑來詢問自己為什麼要上市。

宋恭源指出，當年曹興誠董事長在聽完自己的說明後，從質疑不解轉變成瘋狂點贊，一改原先態度紛紛表露大大贊同，甚至驚訝到脫口而出「這想法太妙了！」等心聲，並馬上決定跟著光寶科的腳步，也跟著推動聯電掛牌。宋恭源笑稱，由這段因果來看，自己也可說是促成晶圓二哥聯電如今盛況的幕後推手。

談到創辦光寶的心路歷程，宋恭源指出，自己原先待在德儀（德州儀器）內工作，因緣際會接觸到LED產業，對其非常有興趣，但德儀當時覺得LED的事業太小，想直接關閉產線，他大感不捨、因此最後在朋友的勸說下，才決定自立門戶，他說，自己當年創業之初，只有100萬資金，大大不足，但幸好自己願意花時間持續投入、打拼，才終於將光寶創立完成，實屬不易。

宋恭源強調，團隊同仁多年來跟著公司一步一步的成長，也一同見證台灣電子業數10年來的繁榮與發展，身為全台第一家電子業上市公司，也跟著數位社會的擴建而興盛，團隊這些年來持續投入很多數位化、跟智慧化的產品研發；對此，他強調，自己將持續秉持公司的初心，創業的初心，持續會為這個地方為這塊土地一起打拼，一起來努力去做事貢獻。
