of blodd circulating inflammation. Through free radical release, the
activation of xanthine oxidase, leads to the activation of leukocyte
and endothelial cells. Therefore, the correlation could be expected
between serum uric acid levels as the markers of both increased
xanthine oxidase activity and inflammation.
