奧運獎牌經常出現在拍賣市場上，美國游泳名將Ryan Lochte曾在2022年於 RR Auctions 拍賣6面獎牌，總成交金額達16.6萬美元。

而他將再度出售三面接力項目的奧運金牌。

「cllct.com」近日報導，Ryan Lochte在2022年表示，他之所以出售銅牌與銀牌，是因為它們「只是放在那裡積灰塵」。據報導，當時拍賣所得捐給 Jorge Nation Foundation，這是一個為重症末期兒童籌款、協助他們出遊的非營利組織。

因為出售更多獎牌而遭到外界批評後，Ryan Lochte再次在社群上向粉絲強調，獎牌本身對他並不重要。 「我從來不是為了金牌而游泳。」

Ryan Lochte在Instagram上寫道，「我的熱情一直都是成為世界上最頂尖的游泳選手之一。那些獎牌？它們只是這段精彩旅程中的錦上添花。」

目前距離拍賣結束還剩一個多星期，Ryan Lochte在雅典奧運與里約奧運的接力金牌，最高出價皆為26840 美元；而他在北京奧運 4×200 公尺接力的金牌，出價已達39040 美元。

報導說，完成這次拍賣後，Ryan Lochte手中仍將保留三面奧運獎牌。
