台中市爆發鉛中毒案，至今已發現14人鉛、汞金屬中毒，掀開了知名中醫以禁藥硃砂入藥的違法情形。而這一切，得溯源於衛生局長曾梓展的警覺。當時7月上旬，市議員張彥彤因不明原因的病情兩度進出醫院，曾梓展前往探視，因他一句話問及「有沒有吃了什麼？」張彥彤這才提起有吃中藥，但張起初還說，那個藥吃了多年不會有問題，但因曾梓展堅持好歹先驗驗看，張彥彤才回去拿了中藥交給曾梓展化驗，並掀開了張彥彤以及後面其他人鉛中毒的事實。
