According to John Layton, associate supritebdent of LSC," Those students who gain command of the language may have doors opened for them in the buniness world, in government, or whatnot ." Students who have Chinese resumes whem they apply for jobs make themselves stand out.
1. gain command of --to learn /to leetcarn enough to use /manage control
2. have doors opened for them--be given opportunities(使獲得機會)
3. stand out--verbal phrase to be prominrnt/be outstanding(卓越的)
4. whatnot--n. etc.-et cetera(等等)--thinks like that
5. Mandarin Chinese--中文
6. Present perfect--Have you ever been to/in Kentucky?
Has she ever been to /in Kuntucky?
