     Sarah was asked , " What do you remember about 1 ^st day of school?" She replied that she recalled going to third grade in a new school; wearing a fringed, suede vest, a red blouse; and bell butoms; making a new friend; and hearing, " You are the really tall," from a shorter boy in the class.

    Sarah's teacher was young and wore a blouse, a vest, and a black flared pants, an unconventional choice of attire for a female teacher in the early 70S. Miss Nesson was firm but kind and was one of Sarh's most beloved.
