小腸經經脈主治頭、頸項、耳、目、咽喉、熱病、「神志病」、本經失調時、臉頰水腫、耳聾、目黃、肩、臂外側腫痛、流鼻血、胸、膝部疼痛，顯示小腸經脈出問體。「神志病」，包括憂鬱症、躁鬱症、妄想症、失眠、神經衰弱等症狀在內。 「Neurosis 神經官能症」。
