與光同行 擁抱自閉兒
不管你家有沒有自閉兒都應該讀這套漫畫。
很多人，包括我自己，對自閉症的瞭解都不深。我們可能會以為他們是活在自己的世界裡的人，幾乎沒有想過他們也可以過和一般人一樣的生活。讀這套漫畫可以讓我們更瞭解這個族群，明白除了特別敏感及與外界用口語溝通有困難之外他們其實和我們一樣。
故事中的主角小光在被診斷出患有自閉症之前，雖然他的父母已經盡全力在照顧和教導他，但是因為他只能以哭鬧和肢體表達情緒，經常讓他的父母受到責難。他父母的傷心焦急無助相信一定會讓許多身為父母者感同身受。這一段讓我們先理解自閉兒的父母承受的壓力及誤解有多麼巨大。接著描述他們求醫和尋找願意接受自閉兒的學校四處碰壁的過程。由此我們可以瞭解自閉兒的醫療、社福、和教育有多麼的不足及急迫。
而瞭解就是改變的開始…
當我們瞭解自閉兒的敏感，我們就會降低音量、減少碰觸…如此一來，自閉兒被嚇到而哭鬧的情況就會減少
當我們瞭解自閉症的成因不是父母的教育失敗，我們就不會說出「是不是因為你的教育方式有問題？」這種傷人的話，我們就會去體貼他們的難處。
當更多人瞭解他們的醫療和教育問題，改善這些問題的機會就越大。
