PS: My father was captured by PLA in 1949 during the Battle of Shanghai. He fought, but the lousy KMT commander-in-chief, Tang Enbo, fled away, and the whole front collapsed. After being detained in the prisoner camp for three months, except for those who wanted to join PLA, he and all other KMT prisoners were set free and given travel expenses.
