Subject term has become one of the hottest political parlances in Taiwan.  How did people associate the poor little hair pin with the changing opinion or standing that DP and its politicians once held in absolute opposition?  I dont know. 

In English we can use "flip-flop" as a noun or a verb, or "backtrack" as a verb, to describe such an act pertaining to those chameleons.
