1993年將這兩首西洋老歌改編為民謠風的夏威夷原住民歌手 Israel Kamakawiwo Ole' 1959~1997, 身高約190公分, 體重 344公斤, 被稱為"溫柔的巨人". 除音樂外, 尚致力爭取夏威夷獨立與原住民權利, 38歲死於心臟病, 應與體重有關. ref. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Kamakawiwo'ole
好萊塢電影"50 first dates 我的失憶女友"(2004) 也將這首作為片尾曲. 改編後的曲調帶有濃厚民謠風, 忠告居住在地球村的我們, 要熱愛土地, 珍惜大自然, 尊重生命, 珍視身邊的一切, 因為地球只有一個, 生命只走一次!

UKULELE---所謂的四弦小吉他
英文唸作優科哩哩,夏威夷人唸作屋窟勒勒
正規有四種大分類,每種都可能有些許小的尺寸變化,不是固定的
由小到大分別是Soprano(標準)(21"),Concert,Tenor與Baritone,
是以音色與音階來作分野
一般是四弦,Concert以上者
也有八弦與六弦之改良品

雖然他去逝好幾年了
現在還有些人 把他畫在家裡的圍牆上
開車經過 不禁慧心一笑 那家的主人畫得真好
影片後面剪接一段他的葬禮, 依照夏威夷傳統儀式, 遺體先焚化後再將骨灰灑進海裡, 很難想像巨大的身軀, 音容宛在, 卻只一小罈骨灰...
所幸他生前是靈活的胖子, 我們永遠記得他快樂歌唱的模樣.

嗯, 很喜歡這位gentle giant 的表達方式.
從來不知道 Somewhere over the Rainbow 可以給人這麼優雅的感覺.
