Princesses and Boomerangs

年近三十歲，卻一直家裡蹲的「啃老族」暴增，年輕女性罹患「公主病」，一直要人「秀秀」的也愈來愈多！尤其是自認為外表長得不錯的女生，更容易有公主的嬌縱行為，缺乏責任感。

A sudden increase in the number of twenty something “boomerang kids” hunkering down in their parents’ home is matched by a growing number of young women suffering from “princess syndrome” who require constant pampering. This self-indulgent condition primarily afflicts girls who consider themselves to be attractive and who show little sense of responsibility.

三、四年級的父母，多半想彌補自己當年無法多讀點書、或者物質條件極差的缺憾，這更容易讓「啃老族」的子女吃定，以為「只要家裡有錢，多蹲幾年都沒差」。就業情報分析，部分啃老族的學歷條件極佳，但是，自我期許很高，一旦外在條件不如預期，就會開始逃避，寧可繼續升學、唸研究所、或者乾脆延畢，以國立大學延畢現象最嚴重，最高學府的台灣大學更是其中之最。

Parents born in the Forties and Fifties who grew up in often straitened circumstances and without many opportunities to better themselves through education are particularly liable to allow themselves to be taken advantage of by such children, thinking that “as long as there’s money in the home it doesn’t matter if they stay a few more years.” A report by Career Media points out that some of these boomerang kids have quite good educations but also have high expectations, and if the outside conditions don’t match these, they go into avoid mode, preferring to take a few more courses, go to grad school or simply delay their graduation. This latter phenomenon is particularly marked in national universities with National Taiwan University topping list.

某些腦殘女性自以為是公主，應該受到公主般的待遇，在家多半備受呵護，以為全天下男人也應這樣對她們，好發族群是三十歲以下的女性。就業情報指出，不論真假公主，有八成的公主病是父母造成的，父母應儘早培養子女獨立負責的精神，面對現實，在職場找到一片天。

Most young women who have deluded themselves into thinking that they deserve treatment fit for a princess have been coddled at home and believe that they are owed the same from any and all men they might meet. They are by and large under thirty years of age. The Career Media report notes that regardless of whether these young ladies are actual princesses or not, in 80% of cases their condition is attributed to their parents. If parents would foster an independent spirit in their children at an early age and train them to face reality, they would find their career path more easily.
