June 4th this year is the 25th anniversary
of massacre at Tiananmen Square.
Here by I post a poem formerly for
those martyrs’ hundredth day sacrifice.
The purpose of posting this poem
is not for reviving the fury and sore ,
but for reviewing the history and error,
and relieving our hurt and sorrow.
The hundredth-day sacrifice for those martyrs,
who were massacred, at Tiananmen, on June 4, 1989.
( I )
It was because they had had too many fetters.
They also had too much oppression.
In their chests, there were explosive furies.
In their hearts, unbearable pain.
So many years their ears were stuffed to be deaf,
Their eyes were covered to be blind.
So many lies were forced into their bellies,
Dogmas, wedged into brains.
“Communism is the most advanced principle:
A universal truth, a practical doctrine of salvation.
Communist party is an excellent political organization:
A guarantee of happiness and the foundation of a rich nation.”
“Our leader is a great navigator,
The director of all people, a sun for all things.
Our country is a paradise on earth, a model of the world.
The Party’s children are the most fortunate among all human beings.”
But, people cannot be changed entirely into complete fools,
Some, somehow still retain their thoughts and feelings.
They still know love and hate, good and evil,
Only keep these continuingly concealing.
“How good is the communism?
It’s full of mistakes and contradictions.
It classifies people into hostile classes,
Persists to provoke animosity and violence,
Determines to destroy morality and traditions.”
“How good are the Communists?
They only engage in privileges and corruption.
They are mostly evil elites, lousy lords;
Forever ride on our backs or step on our heads,
At will wield their power and perform oppression.”
“They produce lunatic rules and brutal struggles,
Develop silly slogans and deceitful education.
They push our country into turbulent chaos, frequent famines.
Squash all people into painful poverty, terrible tribulation.”
“How good is our leader then?
He is so wicked, absurd and horrid.
His knowledge is poor, quality is low,
Yet he proclaims he is higher than heaven.”
“He really is an evildoer, butcher, stupid yet despotic ruler;
A liar, cheater, conspirator, and shameless yet dirtiest character.
It turns out he is the number one bad man in our long history,
The master crafter of all crimes, center source of all the horrors!”

People across the country recognized these facts,
Felt their pain, also knew their reasons.
But, no one dared to express his hatreds and furies;
They could only supress them in their abdomens.
Those college students
Who were studying in Beijing:
They had more knowledge,
Understood more things,
Had conscience and ambitions,
Were courageous and unblenching.
They united together,
Walked out of school,
Went to Changan Avenue,
Came to Tiananmen Square.
They stood in columns solemnly,
Sent representatives to kneel before
People’s Great Hall;
They petitioned sorrowfully,
And chanted aloud:
“We want freedom!
We want the rule of law!
We want democracy!
We want human rights!”
Their tears wetted the earth.
Their cries shocked the skies!
