[TBSky News] Grand Master Interviewed by the Foreign Media

His Holiness was interviewed by the foreign media, each word spoken by Grand Master is a gem, and is admirable!

His Holiness has arrived in Guam in the morning of 4^th May 2014), Grand Master was welcome by the local officials, and had a group photo with the local disciples!

(TBSky News/Reported by Acharya Hui-Jun) On 4^th May 2014, His Holiness accepts the media interview with Kuam (Guam TV station), Guam Pacific Daily News, Mariana Veriety, Master Lian-Ning translated the entire conversation at the scene!

The following is the questions and answers between Grand Master and the reporter:

Q: What is Grand Master's impression of Guam?

A: Sunshine, vacation, beach, ... the place is beautiful...

Q: Grand Master visited Guam, which is a military base, and is also a land of Catholics, how are you going to teach the sentient beings here?

A: Grand Master said no problem! America is a nation with the characteristics of multiethnic and cultural pluralism. Furthermore, there are various ethnic restaurants in Guam, therefore, there would not be a problem in religion propagation.

Q: The ceremony Grand Master preside today, what contributions or benefits would it bring to everyone?

A: For example, the consecration of Usnisa Vijaya Stupa, stupa would protects Guam from fire disaster, earthquake, typhoons... and would help mankind.

Q: What are the contributions of building new temple in Guam?

A: Buddhism has always been remarkably tolerant, thus, preach that everyone is equal.

Q: Has Grand Master ever participated in multi-religious meeting and gave any suggestions?

A: There was a religious conference in Canada, and during the conference, they sang "we are care". There are lots of categories/levels in Buddhism, some belongs to heaven, cultivation, to help in the stages of perfection, and our Buddhism teaching is to help others and tolerant of other religions.

Q: Can Grand Master please share the benefits of individual practice to own self and public?

A: I think that personal cultivation can enable one to concentrate in meditation, own heart to be purified, able to influence the people around, the heart is pure and bright, thus, is able to teach the sentient beings on these!

Esoteric Buddhism itself has sequence and methods, there are stages!

I have homework every day, and also teach disciples to do their homework, gradually enter the cultivation of Dzogchen (Great Perfection Dharma practice)!

Q: When I read Grand Master's book and dharma speech, I found that Grand Master's dharma speech also consists of humorous statements, can Grand Master please explain how to cultivate consistently and enlighten sentient beings humorously?

A: The so-called Zen is to not influenced by outside world (external surroundings), meditative concentration (samadhi/fixity) is to be able to be calm under adversity! To be more precise, there is no outside world (external surroundings) at all!

Why do I teach everyone with humorous words, so that everyone would not doze off when listening to the dharma speech on Saturday afternoon ... (Grand Master said humorously). Enlightened people understand ~ there is no outside world, thus, the heart/mind would not be affected or influenced, when your heart is pure, there would not be any worries or troubles, and is able to main a pure happy heart!

Q: It is a beautiful day today, did you see it?

A: I can see that the weather is beautiful and there are lots of people on vacation, although I can see such situation but the heart is immovable! Not seeing or hearing is paying attention one's own moral uplift without thought of others; it is true practice if one is able to see or hear but the heart is unmoved.

Q: What would Grand Master like to share with the Buddhist here? What are the benefits of this activity to sentient beings?

A: I would transmit Green Tara practice here, I would like to make this environment to be better with this practice, the greenness of Green Tara would also make the environmental protection to be better!

I come to Guam to explain the definition of Buddhism to non-Buddhists. To teach everyone four matters: Be a truly kind person, do good deeds, transform own bad habit to good, to enable own self to reborn in pure Buddha Land in the future!

Q: I know you would celebrate 70th birthday here, do you have any thoughts or realization?

A: I was born in Taiwan, ... although I am already 70 years old, but is still like a 17 year old person, some people will lose their teeth, has knee pain... has pain everywhere when they reach the age of 70, but I do not have any of these symptoms, and is still very healthy!

The 70 year old people are worried but I do not have these problems, in fact, I am still able to do push-ups, sit-ups, horizontal bar, parallel bars... everything is normal.

I do not care of the 70 year old situation, everything doesn't matter to me, no problem at all.

Q: Grand Master has just mentioned "liberation of suffering", but why would people suffer?

A: Buddhists need to understand bitterness/pain/suffering, a debut appearance at the age of one, academic first at the age of ten, love ripples or amorous at the age of twenty, ... hanging on the wall at the age of one hundred, every stage is a pain, even death is also a suffering!

Q: Is it inevitable or accidental that each step and footprint of Grand Master enlightened sentient beings?

Grand Master and I are from geodetic school, and this is the second time Grand Master visit Guam, ... that lama outfit dharma staffs wear at the scene is magnificent, and what is the meaning of Grand Master's outfit?

A: For me, it is fortuitous to inevitable, from Christianity to Taosim and Buddhism... which is fortuitous, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas asked me to save and enlighten sentient beings, which is inevitable. From neighbours in the beginning up to saving and enlightening five million disciples, is fortuitous becomes inevitable!

My dragon robe has dragons and cranes, the favourite logos, they are my pet (Grand Master said humorously) and is very majestic...

Q: What are the reasons of True Buddha School mainly using yellow and red colour?

A: The seed syllable of Esoteric Buddhism have different colours, wearing yellow colour is for prosperity, to increase fortune and wisdom, red colour is for magnetization or reverence and love, and is able to magnetize the public. White colour represents calamities eradication, blue colour represents subjugating own self.

His Holiness is very ingenious, answered with wisdom, and caused the reporters present nodded and gasp in admiration, lastly, His Holiness presented the reporters the corpus of Grand Master as a gift and had a group photo, the True Buddha's foreign press conference end auspiciously!

答：師尊說沒問題的！美國也是多元化民族，都是沒有問題的。在關島更有各民族的餐館，所以於宗教上，是沒有問題。

問：今明天師尊的法會法務，將帶來所有人什麼貢獻？

答：像開光尊勝塔將鎮火災、地震，颱風...幫助人類。

問：建新道場在關島有什麼貢獻？
