１９７４年英國蘇格蘭女歌手／演員露露（Lulu）以［出賣世界的人／The Man Who Sold the World］登上英國單曲榜＃３，拿到事業代表作之一．

可是接下來推出單曲每下愈況，反應冷淡．

１９７８年，３０歲的露露推出大碟［Dont Take Love for Granted／別把愛當成理所當然］，由艾爾頓強（Elton John）的唱片公司The Rocket Record Company發行，Mark London和Lem Lubin擔任製作．

 

Mark London是露露職業生涯代表作［To Sir With Love］的作曲者，也是露露的長期經紀人Marion Massey的丈夫。

Lem Lubin曾是Unit 4 + 2和Christie樂團的貝斯手，並於1977年起擔任Rocket唱片公司的A&R主管。

根據露露回憶，這張專輯的起源是倫敦方面請她錄製幾首Neil Harrison的歌曲樣本。Harrison是Mark London近期發掘的一位作曲家。

露露原本打算把Harrison的歌推薦給其他歌手，但正如她後來所說：「我們一錄完樣本，就很明顯，它們不會只是樣本。它們顯然是為我而作的。」

 

 

 

首支單曲是標題曲［Dont Take Love for Granted］，由Neil Harrison創作，

Mark London和Lem Lubin製作成一首流行／靈魂／抒情曲，在柔緩的速度中，露露以溫婉的唱腔娓娓演繹．

不過大眾反應冷淡，單曲和專輯皆未入榜，繼續她的音樂事業低潮期．
