１９８３年秋天,  ２３歲的英國金髮歌手金懷德（Kim Wilde）發行第三張由弟弟瑞奇（Ricky Wilde）製作的大碟［Catch As Catch Can］, 評價好壞兩極

由於三首單曲反應不好, 讓［Catch As Catch Can］成為金出道以來銷售最差專輯, 只拿到英國榜＃９０

懷德提到沒人預期此曲表現如此差, 這讓她留下相當不佳的記憶

首支主打［Love Blonde／愛的金髮女郎］只登上英國榜＃２３　國際較佳

１９８３年１０月　金推出第二主打［Dancing in The Dark／舞在黑夜裡］

由Nicky Chinn, Paul Gurvitz創作──這是懷德事業早期不是父親或弟弟譜寫的歌曲

但仍由Ricky Wilde製作

這是一首融合流行電子與舞曲的歌曲,對金來說,是曲風上的一種轉變

只是［Dancing in The Dark］反應兩極,商業表現也不佳, 只登上英國榜＃６７──這是金整個８０年代表現最差的單曲

幸好［Dancing in The Dark］於歐陸表現較佳：丹麥＃３　芬蘭／瑞士＃８　德國＃２６

這是金在RAK唱片旗下於英國最後出版的單曲（歐陸另有一首）
