據 The Information 和 Variety 報導，Meta 將不再推出消費者導向的 Portal 裝置，而是將其重新定位為企業產品。Variety 稱 Meta 將會賣完現有的 Portal 庫存，也會為已賣出的產品提供保固服務，但未來推出的產品將以企業用途為主了。

據 IDC 的數據，Meta 在 2020 年共售出了 60 萬台 Portal 裝置，而 2021 年則是 80 萬。這聽起來是不差，但是和市場領先者的 Amazon 及 Google 還是差距甚遠的。相對的，Portal 似乎反而是企業用戶購買的較多，做為遠端工作時的溝通方案，或許這是讓 Meta 決定轉向的主因。Meta 這幾年來著實嘗試了多種不同的產品，由比較「傳統」的第一代 Portal 和 Portal+，到將電視螢幕轉成 Portal 螢幕來用的 Portal TV，再到自帶電池的 Portal Go，但都沒能打破困局。

這是今天第二則 Meta 消費硬體相關的傳聞，稍早也有消息說 Meta 暫停了其旗艦智慧手錶的開發。結合早前部份 Reality Labs 計畫被取消的傳聞，以及高管離職的新聞，Meta 現在內部應該是在大整頓的狀態吧。
