被告:「我可以說話嗎」

Judge: "Of course."

法官:「當然可以。」

Defendant: "If I called you a son of a bitch, what would you do?"

被告:「如果我說你是王八蛋，你會怎麼罰我?」

Judge: "I'd hold you in contempt."

法官:「我會判你藐視法庭。」

Defendant: "What if I thought you were a son of a bitch?"

被告:「如果我認為你是王八蛋呢?」

Judge: "I can't do anything about that. There's no law against thinking."

法官:「我不能怎麼樣。法律沒禁止思考。」

Defendant: "In that case, I think you're a son of a bitch."

被告:「這樣的話，我認為你是王八蛋。」
