圖說:南非幣反面


之前幫小朋友補習的錢,加上借給朋友很久很久的錢終於都進帳了,於是我的手上忽然多了很多鈔票。而且最可貴的是,剛好每種鈔票都有,所以就興致勃勃地照了相。雖然本來就是我的錢,但一下子拿在手上的感覺還真不錯!錯覺自己很富有。這大概就是傻瓜的快樂~

 

說到錢,就想到之前在圖書館牆上拍到的裝飾。把南非幣的圖案翻印在畫布上,變成像是畫作一樣掛在牆上。仔細看看南非幣還真是漂亮呦,用南非的五大動物(Big Five)做為五種鈔票的印記,犀牛、大象、獅子、野牛和豹子。而反面則是以其他動物與南非的重工業為主題。像這樣掛在書卷氣息濃厚的圖書館裡,雖然看到的第一眼直接想到錢,但細想後卻感受到一種另類的藝術。

全都用動物當主角耶,小朋友肯定喜歡

dangerous dave here :D

the other side of the SA notes speaks of different stories... take a look at them. not as interesting as the big 5, but still relatively relevent...

R20: the back is clearly a reference to SA's mining industry... and if you look carefully at the back, you can see the periodic table.

R50: those funny things you see are called "goose necks". they were used by SASOL back in the old days to produce fuel from coal. those units are called "circulating fluidized synthol reactors". (that's part of our course... that's partly why i know about it)

R100: it's table mountain :D with some zebras in the foreground.

i remember the R200 being a bridge somewhere in SA, and R10 are just a bunch of sheep.

I didnt even notice the back of the notes. Hey, how did u notice the periodic table? That's a shocker! Why would it be on SA notes?

I guess South Africa has really come a long way since the heavy mining times~
