Children's Literature- (Week thirteen) The Brothers Grimm

1.         Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were German academics, linguists (They were publish a dictionary), cultural researchers, lexicographers and authors who together specialized in collecting and publishing folklore during the 19th century.

2.    Popularized stories: "Little Red Ridding Hood", "Cinderella", "The Frog Prince", "The Goose-Girl", "Hansel and Gretel", "Rapunzel", "Sleeping Beauty", and "Snow White".

3.         "Hansel and GretelHansel-and-gretel":"Hansel and Gretel" is a well-known fairy tale of German origin, recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.
