上英文課的時候，曾經在美國唱片行工作過很多年的老師說，到現在為止，Eagles合唱團仍然是美國排行榜最受歡迎的樂團之一，特別是他們的招牌歌” Hotel Californian”更是許多人心目中的”國歌”。

聽他這樣一說，我腦子裡於是馬上響起了Hotel California的旋律和歌詞，是的，這首歌也一直是我心目中屬於半頹廢國度的國歌，如果人生真的能有那樣的經驗，真的有種很特別的美吧，也許放浪迷失，但是又何嚐不是一種醒悟和真實，人生如夢，一切無常，一切都會消失，連我們自己，但許多人終其一生又有多少的機會能完全忠於自己?

我於是也想到了我所書寫過的那些愛情國度裡的許多故事，發現這些故事不管悲喜善惡，如果拍成電影，都能用Hotel California來做配樂，因為這首歌讓人百聽不厭更不解，越聽越無從解釋這歌裡的情緒和主張到底是什麼，這也正是世間很多事物最迷人的地方吧，無從定義也無從解釋，就像愛情，永遠沒有是非對錯，愛情高於世俗的一切，所以本來就不應該用人世間的所有理性知識來解讀愛情，甚至，愛情本來就是生來為了解構和重新解讀這世界的。

有人說Hotel California是一首很警世的歌，裡面所談的都是吸食大麻的種種幻覺，但是在我聽來，這首歌更像是在解讀愛情，所以Hotel California一直是我心目中最具有半頹廢精裡的國歌，或者，當然也可以說，愛情本來就是一種讓人戒不掉的毒品。
