History is not a story but the meaning of a story.

History is not a fact but the interpretation of a fact.

The past per se, being inherently heterogeneous and discontinuous, can never be fully revealed and neatly packed in the narrative parcel of history and thus always demands us a new interpretation to delimit and cross the given borders of the past.
