- Celtic languages :
the original spoken language (英國某些偏僻地方還會使用) - Roman Britain :
Latin language became offical language but Celtic still used by people. - Old English :
5th cen. Anglo-Frisian languages, spoken by Germanic tribes. when Anglo-Saxons became dominant in England. - Middle English :
after the Norman conquest (1066), adopting much French vocabulary(精細文化字彙), remained Germanic(日常間單用字). - Early Modern English :
15th cen. with printing press to London and the King James Bible as well as the Great Vowel Shift. - Modern English :
17th through the British Empire, English spared worldwide. Nowadays USA become the leading of this language.
