I remember when Sino-American relationship was better than it is now, some NBA teams would wear the jerseys with their Chinese names, playing on the first day of Chinese new year, for example, 火箭, 勇士 and so on.  Not anymore.

You may say NBA is a commercial tournament, and it is not unusual to cater to Chinese fans in this way.  You may be right but try to remember that politics is everywhere.
