Yesterday a wind-driven wildfire devastated Louisville, Boulder County, Colorado, a typical American residential town where my son and his wife are living at now, and my wife and I were there just four days ago.
The strong, gusty winds, at fastest speed as a hundred MPH, quickly wiped out the lumber-built houses in some districts. Thirty thousand residents were informed to evacuate from the town, including my son and his wife. They then found a motel to stay, wistfully hoping their home is safe. (Thanks to Heaven, he told us just now: it is safe.)
From the images online, I saw the battle-scarred scenes in those places; I just couldn’t believe that it was only four days ago another scene made me admire how could I spend the rest of my life in a place like that as a retiree. What the shifting sands of life it is!
