● 祈使語氣:

 

用來表示請求、命令、禁止、或勸導。句子的主詞有時被省略掉。

 

 

Ex:

 

1. Be careful!

要小心！

肯定祈使語氣。第二人稱的主詞 You (你、你們) 可以省略，後面用動詞原式 Be。

 

2. Don’t play game with me.

不要跟我玩遊戲。

否定祈使語氣。主詞 You 被省略，後面跟動詞原式 play。

 

 

 

● 以 Let 引導的祈使語氣，後面用第一、第三人稱，受格，再接動詞原式。

 

 

◎ 肯定祈使語氣

 

Let + me/him/her/it/us/them + V

 

1. Let him go.

讓他走！

 

2. Let me do it!

讓我來！

 

 

◎ 否定祈使語氣

 

Don't let + me/him/her/it/us/them + V

 

1. Don't let me ever catch you.

永遠不要讓我抓住你。

動詞 catch 前，還可以用副詞 ever 修飾。

 

 

 

● 我們經常看到在祈使句後，跟著 "and" 或 "or", 來表示有條件的正面或負面用法。

 

 

◎ 祈使句 + and + (正面用法)

 

Study hard, and you will succeed.

努力學習，你一定會成功。

 

= If you study hard, you will succeed.

祈使句後面，and(則)，正面用法。

 

 

◎ 祈使句 + or      (負面用法)

 

Shut up, Larry, or I'll crown your head with a pot of shit.

閉嘴，Larry，不然我就要在你的頭上用一盆狗屎來加冠。

 

= Larry, if you don't shut up, I'll crown your head with a pot of shit.

祈使句後面，or(否則)，負面用法。
