And on Tuesday Michelle Monaghan made sure to be the centre of attention in a semi-sheer red prom dresses at the Los Angeles premiere for her new film The Best Of Me.

The 38-year-old is helming, alongside James Marsden, the latest adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks pulpy romance and she was certainly looking every inch the romantic leading lady.

Michelle stood out from the crowd in the knee length patterned cheap prom dresses that featured window-like boxes all throughout the garment.

She pulled back her long tresses in a low bun and kept her makeup at a minimum as she made her dress the statement piece.

The Fort Bliss actress completed her look with a pair of red pumps that had gold details on the front

In her newest movie The Best Of Me, Michelle plays Amanda who is reunited with her former high school sweetheart after many years apart when they return to visit their hometown, according to IMDb.

The film also stars Liana Liberato and Luke Bracey, and will be released in theatres on October 17.

Meanwhile, on the red carpet Marsden looked dapper in a two-piece teal suit, blue and white striped collared short prom dresses and grey tie as he cuddled up to Monaghan.
