It was claimed by The Sun On Sunday that Charlotte Riley married her actor fiance Tom Hardy in a secret ceremony two months ago.

And when the 32-year-old actress stepped out at the Peaky Blinders premiere in Birmingham on Sunday she was certainly sporting what could have been a newlywed glow.

The pretty brunette actress looked stunning in a printed black-and-white formal dresses but it was her huge smile which completed her look, leaving onlookers in no doubt that the actress couldn't be happier.

Although she is reported to have married Tom, 37, Charlotte has kept everyone guessing and was still wearing just her diamond engagement ring on her left hand, with no wedding band in sight.

Charlotte gamely posed for pictures with fans, who are eagerly awaiting the series two of the historical crime drama in October.

However, there was no sign of Tom, who also stars in the new season.

Hardy's arrival to Peaky Blinders was heralded with much fanfare following an official announcement on Facebook in February – and one month later it was revealed was also set to become part of the cast.

The actress joined Game Of Thrones star Noah Taylor as the latest additions to the BBC show based around the real life exploits of the feared Shelby gang in post-World War 1 Birmingham.

Charlotte, whose film credits include forthcoming Tom Cruise vehicle Edge Of Tomorrow, features as a wealthy aristocrat who develops an association with polar opposite Tommy Shelby, played by Irish actor Cillian Murphy.

The actress has already worked with Murphy on another forthcoming film – the Ron Howard directed drama The Heart Of The Sea, an adaptation of the 2000 book about the sinking of the whaleship Essex.

Likewise Hardy has an extensive working relationship with the actor, having previously co-starred in two Christopher Nolan films – Inception and, to a lesser extent, The Dark Knight Rises.

British-Australian actor Noah, who appeared in the third season of HBOs epic fantasy drama Game Of Thrones as Locke, plays the head of a rival gang family.

The 44-year-old’s previous film credits include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The New World, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zizou and Vanilla Sky – another film featuring Cruise.

The first series of Peaky Blinders - which has been compared to hit US drama Boardwalk Empire - was a huge hit for BBC Two last year, averaging two million viewers.

Series Two began principal photography at various locations around the West Midlands in February and will air on BBC Two in next month.

Helen McCrory, 46, looked stunning as she hit the red carpet in a formal dresses sydney vintage.

It will see the Shelby family expand their empire as the 1920s begin to roar.

Meanwhile, Tom and Charlotte have been engaged since 2010, since meeting on the set of Wuthering Heights a year earlier, but the nuptials were kept under wraps, The Sun On Sunday reported.

The paper claimed that the pair exchanged their vows on July 4 at the Chateau de Roussan in the South of France - with just a small group of friends and family in tow.
