The three kinds of existence 三有

   (1) The three kinds of existence: those things which exist in the realm of desire, the realm of form, and the formless realm.   

   (2) The three realms (sanjie 三界).The three kinds of bhava, or existence; idem 三界 q. v. The three states of mortal existence in the trailokya, i. e. in the realms of desire, of form, and beyond form. Another definition is 本有 present existence, or the present body and mind; 當有 in a future state; 中有 antara-bhava, in the intermediate state.

    (1)、三有者，三界之異名，生死之境界，三界之生死有因有果謂之有。

(一)、欲有，欲界之生死。欲界天、人、修羅、畜生、餓鬼、地獄，各各隨其業因而受果報，故名欲有。

(二)、色有，色界之生死。色界四禪諸天，由昔脩習有漏禪定，報生此天，雖離欲界麤染之身，而有清淨之色。（四禪諸天者，初禪天、二禪天、三禪天、四禪天。）

(三)、無色有，無色界之生死。無色界四空諸天，由昔修習有漏禪定，報生此天，雖無色質為礙，而亦隨其所作之因，受其果報，故名無色有。（四空諸天者，空處天、識處天、無所有處天、非非想處天。）

謂欲界、色界、無色界六道眾生，各隨所作善惡之業，即感善惡之報。（六道者，天道、人道、脩羅道、餓鬼道、畜生道、地獄道也。）

   (2)、三有者:

(一)、本有，本有指現生的身心。

(二)、當有，當有指未來的身心。

(三)、中有，中有指本有與當有之間所受的身心。
