最近國內無薪假之風又吹起，一群人又得勒緊褲帶，另又適逢民國100年，許多豪富之家大擺豪宴嫁娶；國外也有抗議資本主義、貧富不均的佔領華爾街行動，讓我想起杜甫「自京赴奉先詠懷五百字」一詩中的：「朱門酒肉臭，路有凍死骨。」這句確切道出貧富不均的社會現象，而此句的英文應該怎麼說呢？


As the haves feast and spree, the have-nots freeze to death by the roadside.

或

While the haves are feasting and spreeing, the have-nots are perishing in bitter (freezing) cold by the roadside.



我用「haves」（複數）來表示「富人」，「have-nots」（複數）來表示「一無所有的窮人」，haves and have-nots 常見於國外文章中，我認為比rich and poor更能強調貧富不均的現象，而feast and spree也更能凸顯出大吃大喝的狂歡，故有上句，僅供參考。
