中國書法的學習

學習中國書法，要有一定的方法，如果不按正規的方法按部就班

進行而任意書 寫，很容易養成不良的習慣，改正起來，非常困

難，概括來說，學習的步驟如下：

1. 基礎：(甲)描紅  (乙)填空  (丙)蒙字

初步以正確的握筆姿勢，依照筆劃的次序，用上開三種方法，奠定摹寫的基礎。

2.             2.熟練：選擇正楷的範本，用九宮格紙臨學，目的是使運筆更趨成熟，並進一步訓練謹守規範，知道起筆收筆，勿使越格。

3. 臨摹：(甲)養靜  (乙)專一  (丙)苦練  (丁)有恆 

臨摹前人成就書法家的作品，是我們學習的捷徑，但這是方法，卻不是目的，首先與指導老師研商一套學習計畫，排定各種碑帖的先後程序，用心揣摩，不能急躁，這就是所謂養靜。選定碑帖以後，要專心致志去學，切忌中途見異思遷隨變更換，待學會了一種，方能更換另一種。寫字是神經傳導，肌肉活動與意識、著力、運氣的配合，需要在任何環境下的苦練，並且要持之以恆。

4.            4. 讀帖：讀帖不是閱讀帖中的文句，而是去分辨帖中字的任何細微變化，讀帖是要求臨習者，通過閱讀來加深對碑帖的理解，換言之，讀帖是聯接古人與今人心靈的橋樑。讀帖是把注意力放在該帖的風格特點的認識上，對其用筆、結構、章法、氣勢的變化，都要留神細看，默記於心，這樣理解愈深，愈容易得心應手。

5.            5 .個人風格的養成：凡是藝術品的創作，貴在每個人有其自己的風格，我們臨摹古人的作品，並不是學得「像」就此滿足，當我們要開創自己風格的書法藝術時，在黑暗中摸索，要花上很長的時間，(少則數十年，多則加倍。)如我們精研古人名作，旁及各派各家的精華，吸取不同的技巧與風範，加以融會貫通，我們具有個人風格的作品，就會自然產生。

How to learn Chinese calligraphy

·       Chinese calligraphy must be learned in the correct way.

·       short cuts easily form bad habits which are difficult to correct  later on.

·       start with  standard scripts. To put into simple words this means that the horizontal lines must be level and the vertical lines must be straight.

1.Start with the basics

Filling of readily printed character outlines - basic outline of the character skeleton is given in red

Tracing - practice with medium and small sized brushes

2.practice

Using the 9-box graph paper, beginning with imitating standard scripts

3. imitation 

Asking the teacher to select suitable text to imitate from, four points to remember.

Management of calmness and stillness           Concentration

Hard work - since calligraphy involves various muscle actions

Perseverance

4. text or script reading

The main point of script reading is not to just read into the meaning of the words and lines, but to recognise any small details in the way the brush is used. By reading the scripts of ancient masters, one can enhance his understanding of that script, and it is a bridge to spiritually link together the ancient times and the modem world.

Emphasis should be put into recognising the style of the script, and carefully look at and try to learn by heart the use of the brush, the outline of the characters, the principles of construction, and the varied use of energy and pressure. By doing so a deep understanding can be gained and it would be easier to succeed in the mastering of calligraphy.

5. development of personal styles

In the creation of any artwork, each artist has his or her individual style. Therefore one should not be satisfied even with perfect imitation of ancient masters' scripts.

But if we were to find our own style in the art of chinese calligraphy out of complete darkness starting afresh from nothing, it would take us a very long time, from decades to even hundreds of years, and certainly beyond our life expectancy.

Therefore we should still follow the path the ancient masters have found, and by the time we achieve a solid foundation, passed the various difficulties and obstacles, our own individual style would inevitably surface.

I believe that it not only applies to Chinese calligraphy, but also to any other field of study.
