"Workaround" means a way of dealing with a problem in spite of the problem without being completely solved. When you need a workaround, you are facing a difficult problem that has not been really solved. Also, you have another choice to make here with "Let's work around it" that means to work in another way to survive through this time and it will not be too influential to the result. Maybe, you will try to solve the problem after the urgency.
