薑園

     幾個星期前，母親告訴我去整理菜園，那時是四月底，天氣仍然涼爽，白天日照也沒那麼強烈。她說菜園那裡有一些薑，可是在還沒拔掉雜草之前，我怎麼也看不到。菜園裡充滿著有很多種我叫不出名字的植物，我花了好幾個鐘頭才把一部份的菜園整理乾淨。接著，長著小片長形葉子的薑就展現在我眼前，真令人欣喜，因為我從沒真正看到從土裡冒出來的薑。

     兩星期後，我又回到菜園。儘管季節逐漸轉成初夏 ，那片薑園依然茁壯。葉片翠綠而且莖幹長得更高。我和妹妹把菜園另外一邊整理好之後，我照了幾張照片。雖然工作辛苦又累，但是汗水流得很值得。因為菜園終於看起來比之前好一些了。

Ginger Garden

     My mom told me to clean up the fields in vegetable garden few weeks ago, and it was about the end of April when the weather was still cool and the sun was not strong in the daytime. "There are some gingers there", she said. However, I could not find them before pulling out the weeds. The garden was full of different kinds of plants which I do not know the names, and it took me hours to make the part of the garden nice and clean. Then, the ginger appeared with tiny little long leaves which made me surprised because I have not seen gingers growing on the land.

     I returned back to the garden after two weeks. They have grown very well even when the weather turned into the early summer. The stems were taller, and the leaves were green. I took pictures after cleaning up the other parts of the garden with my younger sister’s help. Although it was hard work and exhausted, I was getting sweat with satisfaction. The garden is finally better than before.
