solved cell phone(iOS over 15 version) weird random MAC address puzzle;
Dual band router (2.4G/5G), MS Network WiFi xxx properties and router admin MAC address conflict with router company Access Control. the more facy random assign IP address and MAC address the more difficult to block hackers/unknown person hook to your network connection.
---------------------------------
5/10/2025 if it is not ReadyShare caused traffic busy i wont so busy day and night to kick off it for 7? days now. i bet router company also doing some updating but never solved because router has dual band then it mess up IP address assigned problem. serached: [is it normal a dual band router show 3 ip addresses for admin, 2.4G and 5G?] got: Yes, its normal for a dual-band router to display three IP addresses: one for the administrative interface, one for the 2.4 GHz network, and one for the 5 GHz network. The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz IP addresses are assigned to their respective wireless interfaces, while the administrative IP is used for accessing the routers settings. --it conflict with router unique MAC address only can assign one IP address which today assign to Router Admin with IP address(C0:FF:D4..). when devices (such as notebook, cell phone...) connect to 2.4G it assign router unique MAC address (00:18:4D...) those devices(such as printer, TV, roku...) connect to 5G wont show in Network Map. (yesterday it can and in page 2 maybe router company switched to different version as file explorer did). in usa better not buy fancy dual/multiple router but the simplest one which spouse wont listen to me.
in the mean time MS settings>internet & network showed 2 names as xxx and xxx properties (which is new just showed up 5/9/2025, for router admin) xxx is the 5G (or 2.4G, user assigned in router admin>advanced>wireless setup) if connect to xxx.
2nd is figre out why spouse cell phone has weird MAC address in stead machine real MAC address that searched [why iphone MAC address not same as router admin access cont5/10/2025 rol MAC address?] got: iPhones (iOS 14 and later) use a private, randomly generated MAC address for each Wi-Fi network they connect to. This address is different from the devices actual hardware MAC address.
--Again mine is iOS 12, lucky me not updated by iOS fancy randomly MAC address so the much less problem. because randomly MAC address conflict with router admin Access Control (more secure) block unknown devices this is why frequently cant see in netgear genie (PC version) network map because treated as block device.
3rd Did my 神操作 kick off ReadyShare or not? yesterday (5/9/2025) we both together set up all devices and agreed no more change needed and if any weird sympton happen must be router company updating (or treat us as white mice to test their new version but not for the expired old router) did. because we both saw Netgear Genie PC version Network Map > modify > a new [type] popped up to select iphone, printer, media device, router, TV... which has 2 pages. today it reduce to one page and cant see our Roku device on network map. while ReadyShare logo on spouse notebook 时有出现 有时不出现. to avoid too many user in the same channel, cant but frequently verify Wifi Connection and change channel under 3. Hoping router company stop labeled our device as ReadyShare server or we cant but run router admin all day long that might increase router company loading. it is called you did bad thing then bad thing also would happen to you. so for both sake remove readyshare from us.
5/13/2025 searched [my wifi symbol didnt in task bar internet tray, how to solve?] got several answearing but most are wifi connection not my wifi connected but cant see wifi logo. all suggestions not help. such as:
[after run netsh winsock reset and restart PC, will Restart Windows Explorer can see wifi in internet tray?] Yes, running netsh winsock reset and restarting your PC should allow you to see your Wi-Fi connection in the notification tray after the Windows Explorer restart. The command resets the Winsock catalog, which manages network settings, and the restart is necessary to apply the changes.
[after run network reset what would happen ?]
After a network reset, your device will be disconnected from all Wi-Fi networks and have its network settings reverted to their default values. This includes erasing saved Wi-Fi passwords, VPN settings, and other network configurations. Youll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi and reconfigure any custom settings.
[after run network reset can i connect internet or must configure in router admin?]
After resetting network settings on your device (like a router or computer), you will lose your internet connection and will need to reconfigure it. Youll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi networks, re-enter your Wi-Fi passwords, and potentially log into your routers admin panel to reconfigure settings.
--in reality, wifi connected but cant visit router admin website. unfortunately forgot 2 secure questions answear, the good thing still can visit other websites.
in the end cant but hard reset router then configure all devices.
the worst still not solve WiFi logo problem. so tried the last solution [Run the Network Troubleshooter]
Start Menu and open it, Click "Network and Internet., Click "Advanced., Click "Run as administrator., and Follow the on-screen instructions. but got:
***** troubleshooters have moved and this tool will be retired another it shows my notebook is win10 in stead win11.
[why Run the Network Troubleshooter shows: troubleshooters have moved and this tool will be retired ?] got:
The message "Troubleshooters have moved and this tool will be retired" appears when running the Network Troubleshooter because Microsoft is phasing out the legacy inbox troubleshooters (also known as MSDT troubleshooters) in favor of the Get Help app.
*** windows setting > about > Get Help (on bottome left corner)
[Get Help can fix wifi missing in internet logo?] Yes, the "Get Help" feature in Windows can assist with resolving issues where the Wi-Fi icon or network connections are missing from the system tray or network settings. By using the network troubleshooter, the Windows "Get Help" feature can attempt to automatically diagnose and fix problems related to Wi-Fi connectivity and network settings.
[do i need to pay get help?] Whether or not you need to pay for help depends on the specific situation and the type of help youre seeking. Some government assistance programs and services are free, while others may have fees. For example, financial assistance for bills or food may be offered by government programs, but support from a counselor or therapist may involve costs.
[why Run the Network Troubleshooter shows: my pc win10 instead win11?] got:
The network troubleshooter showing your PC as running Windows 10 instead of Windows 11 is likely a display issue or a temporary glitch in the troubleshooting process. It doesnt necessarily mean your operating system is incorrectly identified, but rather that the troubleshooter might be using cached information or encountering a temporary error.
Heres why this might be happening and how to address it:
1. Display Issue:
The troubleshooter might be showing the wrong version number in the display, but the underlying system is still running Windows 11.
This could be due to a software glitch or a temporary conflict with the network settings. ....
i tried Get help, followed the helper installed quick assist. because not familiar quick assist the helper closed the case.
i can see in the future if there is a question to be solved, very likely need to pay Get help .
