與長一歲的黛比吉布森（Debbie Gibson）並列為８０年代後期的兩大偶像公主
１９７１年１０月出生的蒂芬妮（Tiffany Darwish）母親是法國（大部份）與伊奴族（愛斯基摩）（少部份）（母）後裔 父親則是黎巴嫩後代
１９８１年邊開始登台職業表演鄉村歌曲
之後被鄉村歌手Hoyt Axton與他母親發掘
１９８２年遇進後來的經紀人與製作人George Tobin
１９８４年與其簽下唱片約 灌錄某些歌曲 後來收在她首張專輯
１９８５年參加電視選秀節目 拿下亞軍
１９８６年簽下讓George Tobin完全控制其事業的經紀約
同年與MCA唱片簽約 開始灌錄首張大碟
１９８７年蒂芬妮發行 首支單曲〔Danny／丹尼〕 沒有宣傳 因此失利
９月同名專輯推出
這時她展開全美購物中心巡迴
獲得媒體大量報導 並累積不少人氣
連帶此時發出的第二單曲〔I Think We’re Alone Now／我想我們已經獨處〕也在排行榜攀升
〔I Think We’re Alone Now〕原本是美國搖滾樂團Tommy James＆The Shondells１９６７年的＃４暢銷曲
原本蒂芬妮並不想翻唱此曲 認為〔I Think We’re Alone Now〕不夠現代感
但在George Tobin的要求下 她只好照作
George Tobin將〔I Think We’re Alone Now〕改編成合成流行版
節奏輕快活潑 蒂芬妮以自己的少女方式詮釋之
結果此曲大受歡迎 在１１月打敗樂壇天王麥可傑克森的〔Bad／壞〕
登上美國榜冠軍 連帶將流行天后瑪丹娜的〔Causing A Commotion／製造騷動〕擋在亞軍
成為６０年代後美國第二年輕的單曲冠軍女藝人
（另外拿下舞曲銷售榜＃７ 舞廳播放榜＃２６）
〔I Think We’re Alone Now〕隨即紅遍各地
１９８８年初登上英國冠軍
此外在加拿大／愛爾蘭／紐西蘭／南非皆封后
荷蘭亞軍 挪威＃３ 義大利＃５ 法國＃９ 瑞士＃１０ 德國＃１４ 奧地利＃２４ 澳洲＃４６
成為蒂芬妮事業最成功的歌曲
此曲的爆紅也讓專輯銷售扶搖直上
MV拍得蠻廉價的（可能是當時蒂芬妮尚未走紅的關係）
不過歌曲卻很動聽 特別是MV採用的是重唱過的單曲版
跟原版有所差別 個人覺得更有魅力
