１９８７年９月　３８歲半的美國迪斯可女王唐娜桑瑪（Donna Summer）發行第十三張大碟〔All Systems Go〕

這是她與Geffen唱片最後一張片約．

製作群包括Harold Faltermeyer，Peter Bunetta，Rick Chudacoff，Richard Perry，Keith Nelson，Jeff Lams與桑瑪．

 

１９８６年，在桑瑪敦促下，David Geffen 聘請 Harold Faltermeyer 製作這張專輯。目標是提供強硬的FM 聲音……

唐娜堅持認為這張專輯應該受到更強烈的 R&B 影響。

專輯完成後，Geffen聽到這些歌曲並喜歡它們，但他的執行團隊認為沒有足夠的歌曲可以被視為單曲。

他們希望Faltermeyer製作另一首歌，但他已經在從事其他配樂項目了……

這首歌是［Dinner with Gershwin］，Richard Perry受聘與Brenda Russell一起製作這首歌。

Harold Faltermeyer驚訝的是，Geffen團隊中沒有人看到［Fascination］、［Voices Cryin Out］或［Thinkin Bout My Baby］作為單曲的潛力。

 

“我們還為［All Systems Go］完成了其他歌曲，但沒有進入最終曲目……該決定是由高管們後來做出的，他們正在尋找１９８７年的廣播熱門歌曲，而不是可能會持續到之後的歌曲。”

 

 

〔All Systems Go〕樂評不佳，單曲出師不利，加上連同當時盛傳桑瑪反同志謠言,

導致銷售不佳, 只拿到美國專輯榜＃１２２，副榜──黑人專輯榜＃５３．

英國沒入榜　創下唐娜事業最低成績．

另拿到義大利＃１７　瑞典＃２７　日本＃６９　荷蘭＃７２

１９８７年１１月，唱片公司在北美與日本推出第二單曲［Only the Fool Survives／只有傻瓜能倖存］，桑瑪與星船樂隊（Starship，前身為Jefferson Starship）主唱米奇湯馬斯（Mickey Thomas）合唱

歌曲由唐娜、其丈Bruce Sudano、Michael Omartian、Virgil Weber、John Bettis、 Harold Faltermeyer共同創作

Harold Faltermeyer製作成一首靈魂／流行抒情曲

編曲精緻光滑，唐娜的豐美飽滿嗓音，搭配米奇湯馬斯較為斯文的歌聲，形成鮮明對比．
