‧rug (n.)
a. a piece of thick cloth or wool that is smaller than a CARPET and is put on the floor as decoration
b. a large piece of material that you can wrap around yourself, especially when you are travelling
c. pull the rug (out) from under sb's feet -informal -to suddenly take away something that someone was depending on to achieve what they wanted
‧buoy (v.)
a. to encourage or make someone feel better
e.g.: I was really buoyed by the nice comments on my work.
‧anchor (n.)
a. a heavy metal object attached to a boat by a rope or chain that, when dropped into the water and resting on the bottom, keeps the boat from moving
e.g.: We dropped the anchor and took out our fishing rods.
b. An anchor is also someone or something that gives support when needed
e.g.: She’s looking for a spiritual anchor.

a. a long, comfortable seat for more than one person that has no back or arms
b. UK ( also divan bed) a bed consisting of a mattress and a base, with no boards at either end
