1. juggle  (v.)   /ˈdʒʌɡ(ə)l/

a. to keep several objects in motion in the air at the same time by repeatedly throwing and catching them

b. to make changes to something in order to achieve a desired result

c. to practice deceit or trickery on

ex: He juggled four balls at once.

 

 

 2. incentive (n.)     /ɪnˈsentɪv/

a. something that makes you want to do something or to work harder, because you know that you will benefit by doing this

 ex: They want to stimulate growth in the region by offering incentives to foreign investors.

 

 3. acute (adj.)       /əˈkjuːt/

a. very serious or severe

b. used for describing the senses and abilities of someone who notices things very quickly and easily

ex: It's a politically acute film that does not oversimplify the issues.

 

4. mire (v.)    /maɪə(r)/

a. to cause to stick fast in or as if in mire

b. to cover or soil with mire

ex: The case has been mired in probate court for years.

 

5. stigma (n.)      /ˈstɪɡmə/

a. a feeling that something is wrong or embarrassing in some way

b. the part of a flower that receives pollen

ex: There's a social stigma attached to receiving welfare.

1.Freshman


A freshman is a first-year student in secondary school, high school, college or university. The term first year can also be used as a noun, to describe the students themselves or others.

a. following the right track or trail; riding on the correct track, as with a train.

b. following the right set of assumptions.


Ex: The train was on the right track when it left the station. I can't imagine how it got lost.

Ex: Tom is on the right track and will solve the mystery soon.

  existing at the beginning of a period or process, before any changes have been made

ex: Our original plan was to go to Spain, but it was too expensive.

b. oriental

  of, relating to, or from Asia and especially eastern Asia
