2x - 5y = 2 ...... (1) 3x + y = 28 ...... (2) -x + 3y = 1 ...... (3) 只用 (1) 和 (3) 解方程式組： (3) * 2 : -2x + 6y = 2 ...... (3') (1) + (3') : y = 4 把 y = 4 代入 (1) : 2x - 5(4) = 2 2x = 22 x = 11 把 x = 11 及 y = 4 代入 (2) 中： 左式 = 3(11) + 4 = 37 ≠ 右式 故此題無解。
